Who We Are
Woolovers is a British lifestyle brand working quietly from our home in Burgess Hill in West Sussex near the beautiful South Downs. We have been designing and selling natural knitwear since 1989.
Our founders loved and lived in the country and they believed in the virtue of nature’s finest fibres such as cashmere, merino and lambswool and that there is no substitute for true and natural fibres that are durable, hypoallergenic, heat regulating and above all naturally biodegradable.
Thirty-two years later, we are still passionate about slow fashion that is natural and sustainable and our ethos is still to tread lightly on the planet. We continue to craft natural clothing, adding the comfiest of organic cotton, super warm yak hair and lightweight linens to our ever-growing collection along with homeware and garden accessories. We know that our customer appreciates the importance of looking great in the knowledge they are being planet-friendly.

Check your clothing labels as synthetic clothing such as nylon and polyester are disastrous to the environment. When you launder man-made synthetic fibres, tiny microfibres are released and drained from the washing machine, through wastewater plants and onwards. These fibres are 5mm or less and are a type of microplastic. They finally make their way into our oceans, then work their way along the food chain. Plastic can be found in fish, meat, honey, wheat and in human poop! We are literally eating plastic. Join our mission to keep microplastics out of our oceans.

Natural fibres such as linen, cotton, wool and cashmere are hypoallergenic, hygroscopic (adjusting to your body temperature), breathable and durable and will last for many years. We have customers who have had their jumper for thirty years and it is still going strong.
By wearing natural fibres you can be sure that you are not contributing to microplastics and that over time our yarns will biodegrade. Humans have worn natural fibres for thousands of years for good reason. We are very passionate about all of our high-quality natural yarns.
Doing Our Bit
At Woolovers we constantly aim to make more planet positive moves. Our cotton is now all organic. Garment bags are compostable so you can compost them at home and all products are delivered to you in reusable paper bags. We say NO to plastic.
